Roy Williams to add 7
4
According to a story at DallasCowboys.com, safety Roy Williams will be switching numbers next season, from No. 31 to No. 38, the uniform number he wore in college.
When asked about the significance of “38″, Williams said it was about more than just the fact that he used to wear the number at Oklahoma, saying…
“Eight in the bible is regarded as a new beginning, and I feel that after this season it’s time to switch over…”
According to the article, Williams had discussed the name change with his pastor, Rickie G. Rush, from the Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Dallas. The article did not mention if Rush prayed for forgiveness for Williams for the multiple horsecollar tackles this year for if he prayed that God would help Williams not sell out to the run so easily on play action.

Oh man, I am a huge Cowboys fan, and I love Roy Williams (even though he’s speed could use a boost), but don’t confuse that we went to Oklahoma…not Texas. I’m also a Longhorn fan and man oh man I despise the sooners. However I wish he would have played at Texas.

January 7th, 2008 at 1:15 pmI have the privilege (I use that loosely) of listening to espn radio in Dallas (which should be called “all cowboys, all the time.”)Even in the off season. It is pathetic. The radio personalities have continually blamed Roy’s “bad” play on the fact that he goes to Rickie Rush’s church and that he “found” religion. Recently there was a interview on the local news and they asked him if he asked Jesus for forgiveness for hitting players as hard as he does. He is under a huge microscope.
January 8th, 2008 at 9:36 amone of the only pluses to the titans being in nashville is how it converted cowboys fans to titans fans. a lot less cowboy talk on the radios these days.
i’d still rather have some more cowboys talk than watch jeff fisher football every sunday. great guy. good coach. boring football.
