We couldn’t really call ourselves a Sports/Faith blog without having one post this week with a Super Bowl prediction. Instead of waiting until the end of the week, let’s just get it overwith now.
Patriots 37, Giants 17.
(You can read my other 9 Super Bowl predictions at the tail end of this article by Matt McKhechnie, which went up on Burnside this morning.)
Post your official score prediction in the comments if you have one. The winner will receive a beating at the hands of Suge Knight.

Pats 34, Giants 23
I wanna hear some Free-Ballin’, er, Fallin’, at halftime. (Followed by a Freebird(in’) encore.)
Is it me, or is Tom Petty the best they’ve done Super Bowl halftime-wise in a while? Ever, maybe?

yeah, after Prince last year, this is a huge step up. Some might argue that The Rolling Stones in 06 and McCartney in 05 were better, but I’m all about Petty.

NYG 41
NE 38
NYG gets way ahead on a bomb to Burress and a couple of NE turnovers, then has to hold on for the victory. Brady leaves the game at some point with an injury, but returns.

Aaron…wishful thinking I’m afraid…but one can always hope.
Go Giants!

Pats 42- Giants - 24
i wish i thought it would be closer? does anybody remember the last time a championship game (or series)in any sport was a good one?

If you count the NHL, 2006 was a good Stanley Cup finals (Carolina beat Edmonton in 7 games).
Before that, the Pats’ 2005 Super Bowl win over Philly was pretty exciting–though not as exciting as their 2004 win over Carolina. And both of those are, in my view, exceeded in (terms of excitement, or whatever it is that makes for a good game) by the Pats win over the Rams in 2002.
Notice the trend here …

it stinks that you have to go to 2006 to find a memorable game.
i hope the super bowl is close. i doubt it will be.
