Membership Breakdown

If you're new here, and you're into sports, christianity, and/or things that are funnier than Dane Cook, subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

First off, if you’re here because you clicked over from Anne Jackson’s blog, thanks so much for stopping by! We love visitors! If you’re a Christian who loves sports, a sports fan interested in spiritual things, or one of the thousands of people responsible for making Joel Osteen’s teeth shiny each week, we’d love for you to become a regular visitor (and eventually a contributing member) to our site. (and if you’re in the browsing mood, check out our Notable Christian Sports Surveys, one of our Member Sound-Offs, the Christian’s Guide To Fantasy Football, or my discussion of whether playing poker is a sin.)

For those of you regulars wondering why members of Anne Jackson’s army might stop by here, it’s because of a video I made for a great cause (soles4souls) that stars yours truly and my awesome kids. You can check it out over at my blog if you feel so inclined.

Moving on…our membership numbers have slowed up a bit. Why is that? Because YOU haven’t signed up yet! We need to add your unique voice to the mix here. We need you to take a stand for your favorite team and step up on the soapbox to share your infallible opinions. In fact, let’s take a quick look at the breakdown of the favorite teams of our 24 members:

# of Members Who Are Fans of…

3 - Chicago Cubs Fans

2 - SD Chargers Fans, U of North Carolina Fans

1 - Packers, Badgers, Twins, Blazers, Crew, Georgia Tech, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles, Ravens, Alabama, Ohio State, Pistons, U of Texas, Magic, UAH Charger Fan

Do y’all really wan’t the Cubs to be on top like that? If not, do something about it and sign up to be a member. It’s free to do, and you get a chance to share your opinions on all sorts of sports topics. Plus you get a cool digital membership card. Just shoot an email with your favorite team and a headshot to prayersforblowouts(at)gmail.com

One last thing…I originally signed myself up as Member #001, but I’ve decided to step down from that role. In my place is my buddy Geof, who is a fan of the Reds, Bruins, Bengals, Celtics, and above all else, the University of Alabama-Hunstville Chargers and their hockey program. So here’s his membership card:

Thanks again everyone for being a part of the conversation here at Prayers For Blowouts!

I think the Cubs fans are in fine position, thankyouverymuch. :-)

Hail to the king, baby. I also root for Duke, by birthright of being Methodist. I’m as obnoxious about it as the Catholic buddy of yours that REALLY loves Notre Dame even though he’s never been on campus, much less prayed at Touchdown Jesus.

From here on forward Crew should be referred to as Massive. More to follow. ;)
